Richard is a preceptor at Elon University School of Law and a member of the Greensboro Bar Association Executive Committee. He recently gave a seminar for North Carolina certified paralegals regarding trust accounting.

In 2006, Richard went as a representative from the North Carolina Bar Association to Taiwan as part of a cultural exchange program. Richard has worked with the Guild of Family and Children’s Services of Piedmont for several years.

Richard continues his work with the Wade Edwards Mock Trial program through the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers. This program introduces high school students to the judicial system by hosting student teams which prepare and argue a hypothetical trial before attorneys who serve as judges and jurors.

Robert is a member of the Greensboro Kiwanis Club, where he has chaired various committees, including Terrific Kids. He also is a busy father.

BP stops most Fla. claims payments

BP is looking to cut off more than just the oil spill. Claims filed from Florida's tourism industry are on hold in Naples and other areas not in the directly affected Panhandle area, BP officials have announced. Jack Wert, executive director of the Naples, Marco Island, Everglades Convention and Visitors Bureau, said it's not the right approach for the oil giant to take. "If that's the case, that certainly is very sad," said Wert, noting that as of Thursday, he hadn't been notified yet of the change.
